Mock Draft 4.0 WITH TRADES 2020

Mock Draft 4.0 with Trades!!!

Here we go guys, first mock with trades. We have 4 more total mocks between now and draft night. Here is the schedule: 3 more mock draft Mondays (after today) and one on the Wednesday before the first round, which will be my “real comparable mock”. This one as well as the other 3 will be more of “what if this happens”. In other words, I want to show what might happen in a draft since no one really knows what is going to happen night of. One pick goes one way and it can change the whole draft. Anyways, I hate to look forward to next week already, but we got a doozy for you. I have done a lot of research and have solidified some of my own opinions from sources like Draft Network, Bleacher Report, ESPN, NFL.com, and independent twitter scouts and their clips. I have not watched my own film, so take this with a grain of salt. Just doing it for fun.

1.       Cincinnati Bengals – QB Joe Burrow, LSU Team Needs: QB, EDGE, iOL, LB (previous: Burrow)
Not happening.
2.       Washington Redskins – EDGE Chase Young, Ohio St Team Needs: WR, CB, OT, TE, CB (previous: Young)
Draft still hasn’t started.
3.       TRADE! Miami Dolphins – QB Tua Tagovaiola, Alabama Team Needs: QB, RB, OT, iOL, DT, EDGE, S
Trade details: Miami gets pick 3, Detroit gets pick 5 and 26.
Until I hear that Tua isn’t the guy… he is the guy.
4.       New York Giants – LB Isaiah Simmons, Clemson Team Needs: LB, OT, EDGE (previous: Becton)
I am switching from OL because I am trying to think of what I wouldn’t do so as to get in the mind of Gettleman. Don’t get me wrong, Simmons is GREAT! But you have to protect Saquon and Daniel Jones.
5.       Detroit Lions – CB Jeffrey Okudah, Ohio St Team Needs: OG, CB, EDGE, DT
Detroit has 2 first round picks now and they got the player they have been gunning for since they traded away Slay.
6.       Los Angeles Chargers – OT Jedrick Wills, Alabama Team Needs: QB, OT, RB (previous: Herbert)
Chargers all of the sudden have the pick of the litter at OL. They are going to see what options are available at QB later in the draft and possibly give Cam Newton a call.
7.       TRADE! Jacksonville Jaguars – QB Justin Herbert, Oregon Team Needs: DT, CB, S, EDGE, QB
Trade Details: Jacksonville gets pick 7, Carolina gets pick 9 and 73 (round 3)
I believe Carolina will actively pursuit moving back, especially if Herbert is available. Jacksonville just “committed” to Minshew by trading away Nick Foles. But when you have an opportunity to draft a guy with Herbert’s arm you generally don’t pass on it. Making sure you get your guy for a 3rd rounder is a modest price to pay.
8.       Arizona Cardinals – OT Tristan Wirfs, Iowa Team Needs: DT, EDGE, LB, OT (previous: Wirfs)
BIG need at right tackle. I know this is a what-if type of mock but it’s hard to see anything but this being a right tackle.
9.       Carolina Panthers – DT Derrick Brown, Auburn Team Needs: DT, CB, LB, iOL
The rebuild is real. I’m not sure if they will try to stack picks for this year or next, but a trade back at some point makes too much sense. Brown will likely slide if he makes it past Carolina but it seems like this pairing is meant to be.
10.   Cleveland Browns – OT Mekhi Becton, Louisville Team Needs: OT, S, LB (previous: Wills)
Similar to the Cardinals. If this pick isn’t a left tackle, I’m not sure what I will do with my hands.
11.   TRADE! Tampa Bay Buccaneers – OT Andrew Thomas, Georgia Team Needs: OT, RB
Trade Details: Tampa gets pick 11 and 120 (4th round), New York Jets get pick 14 and 76 (3rd round)
I might be alone on this, but signing Tom Brady was the opening of a Super Bowl window. How do you keep it open for both years of his contract? Keep him standing. Move up and solidify the offensive line. Thomas has played left and right and will be a great run blocker for many years.
12.   Las Vegas Raiders – WR Henry Ruggs III, Alabama Team Needs: WR, CB, DT (previous: Jeudy)
As I continue to wonder what the Raiders will do with this pick, I continue to think they will be the first team to take a WR. I also believe they have always value speed, and with Tyreek in the division they see what it can do firsthand when used properly.
13.   San Francisco 49ers (from Indianapolis Colts) – WR Jerry Jeudy, Alabama Team Needs: CB, WR, iOL, DT (previous: Lamb)
Jerry Jeudy might be the top player on their board overall. When SF got in this range, I had to believe it was for an impact route runner to help JimmyG.
14.   New York Jets – WR CeeDee Lamb, Oklahoma Team Needs: OT, WR, iOL, EDGE
The new Jets GM comes from the Eagles who are always wheeling and dealing. They pick up and extra 3rd and deem that the work done to their OL is enough and can address another dire need at WR. Lamb is not as speedy as Ruggs, or as tight as Jeudy on his routes, but he is a true WR1.
15.   Denver Broncos – CB CJ Henderson, Florida Team Needs: WR, CB, OT (previous: Ruggs)
Nightmares for John Elway. All the tackles and wide receivers are gone. Corner can still be addressed even after the trade for Bouye. Henderson is a lengthy, man corner similar to what Jacksonville had in Ramsey with them together.
16.   Atlanta Falcons – DT Javon Kinlaw, South Carolina Team Needs: EDGE, CB, DT, RB (previous: Henderson)
Falcons look really good in this scenario of getting to either Kinlaw, Chaisson, or Fulton. But could they shock the world and be the first team to take a RB?
17.   Dallas Cowboys – EDGE K’Lavon Chaisson, LSU Team Needs: CB, S, EDGE, iOL (previous: Chaisson)
Frederick, their all-pro center, retiring out of the blue is worrisome, but I believe that could be in play to be addressed in round 2. You know what you can’t find in round 2? Someone with the athletic ability of Chaisson.
18.   Miami Dolphins (from Pittsburgh Steelers) – OT Austin Jackson, USC Team Needs: RB, OT, iOL, DT, EDGE, S (previous: Jackson)
They traded the other first rounder so they could solidify Tua and their quarterback situation for 15 years. Time to give him a tackle to pair with him. Kid is raw, but I doubt he is there in round 2 and he has a much higher ceiling than Josh Jones.
19.   Las Vegas Raiders (from Chicago Bears) – CB Kristian Fulton, LSU Team Needs: WR, DT, CB (previous: Fulton)
Oakland is at the beginning of the next great run on defensive backs. Fulton has times where he is the best player on the field, and others where he doesn’t know how to move his feet.
20.   TRADE! New Orleans Saints – QB Jordan Love, Utah St Team Needs: OG, CB, LB
Trade Details: Saints get pick 20, Jacksonville gets pick 24 and a 2021 2nd rounder
The Saints were in the running for a trade up to get a certain Patrick Mahomes in 2017. They won’t let another team (Patriots) get the chance to select their guy this time. Taysom isn’t the long-term option and there is no more Teddy. This QB will need the time to groom and he will get it.
21.   Philadelphia Eagles – WR Justin Jefferson, LSU Team Needs: WR, CB, S, LB (previous: Jeudy)
With Slay now acquired, I expect WR to be extremely sought after. Jefferson is the best on the board and I wouldn’t be surprised if he is taken before pick 21.
22.   Minnesota Vikings (from Buffalo Bills) – CB Jeff Gladney, TCU Team Needs: CB, WR, EDGE (previous: Gladney)
Corner is a spot they can’t afford to leave the first round without, so don’t wait and get the guy that fits your system like a glove. Gladney will play man and will also all come up and smack you in the head in the run game.
23.   New England Patriots – EDGE Zack Baun, Wisconsin Team Needs: QB, WR, EDGE, TE (previous: Baun)
The Patriots are an enigma in all facets. But at the end of the day, they love smart players that do their job. I believe Baun is that.
24.   Jacksonville Jaguars (from Los Angeles Rams) – CB AJ Terrell, Clemson Team Needs: DT, CB, S, EDGE
Trading away your entire defense isn’t good team building. But no matter, time to restock with a former National Champion. He didn’t shut down Chase in this year’s title game… but only one corner did the whole year and he is widely considered a top 5 prospect in next year’s draft already. Give the kid a break.
25.   Minnesota Vikings – EDGE Yetur Gross-Matos, Penn St Team Needs: CB, WR, EDGE (previous: Mims)
Everson Griffen was cut to free up cap space. Gross-Matos isn’t as heavy handed as Griffen was. But there is a needed edge presence that Yetur can certainly fill. He is good at the fastball, but that may be his only pitch right now.
26.   Detroit Lions – EDGE AJ Epenesa, Iowa Team Needs: OG, CB, EDGE, DT
The best scheme fits for AJ are former Patriots systems. And I’ll be damned if Matt Patricia doesn’t at least try to prove he is a good defensive coach this year.
27.   TRADE! Jacksonville Jaguars – S Xavier McKinney, Alabama Team Needs: DT, CB, S, EDGE, QB
Trade Details: Jacksonville gets pick 27, Seahawks get EDGE Yannick Ngakoue
A bit surprising that Yannick is still floating around and I think the teams that miss on Yetur will start to panic as the EDGE class has a LARGE drop off here. Jacksonville with 3 trades tonight, and they push to get this trade done because McKinney won’t be there at pick 42.
28.   Baltimore Ravens – LB Kenneth Murray, Oklahoma Team Needs: LB, iOL (previous: Murray)
Murray is your typical rangy 3 down LB. This was the only weak spot on the whole team last year but no one cared because the offense was so high-flying. But when they needed a LB to stop Derrick Henry in the playoffs, it showed.
29.   Tennessee Titans – DL Marlon Davidson, Auburn Team Needs: OT, CB, DT, EDGE, OG (previous: Niang)
They need an edge, and a defensive tackle. Davidson can play multiple positions along the DL and will be a great fit for a former Patriots defensive player at head coach. People know Derrick Brown, but Davidson is a dog as well.
30.   Green Bay Packers – LB Patrick Queen, LSU Team Needs: WR, TE, LB (previous: Shenault)
I don’t think Queen will be available here on draft night, and they will probably go WR. But this is a perfect landing spot for a team that needs to add another physical component to their defense.
31.   TRADE! New York Jets – OT Josh Jones, Houston Team Needs: OT, WR, iOL, EDGE
Trade Details: Jets get pick 31, 49ers get pick 79 (3rd round)
They missed out on the tackle of choice earlier in the night. So, they make sure they get their guy this time by jumping a few tackle needy teams between them. Jones is the best left tackle still available and has been a long-time starter for the Cougars.
32.   Kansas City Chiefs – CB Trevon Diggs, Alabama Team Needs: CB, LB, iOL (previous: Terrell)
Getting some young, cheap help on the defensive side of the ball will be able to keep this Super Bowl window open for a few more years once they need to pay Mahomes next offseason.

Mock Draft 3.0 - Post Free Agency Wave 1

Post Wave 1 of Free Agency: Mock Draft 3.0

Free Agency Wave 1 is done and while there are a few big-name guys still left, a lot of team needs have been filled. This will be my last non-trading mock until the last one I release a few days before the draft. I might get a friend to do one with me in between now and then as well.

If the Bengals trade out, they are dumb. If the Dolphins trade up to 1, they are dumb. Let’s all just stand pat yea?
2.       Washington Redskins – EDGE Chase Young, Ohio St Team Needs: WR, CB, OT, TE, CB (previous: Young)
Kyle Allen was just acquired today as a backup to Haskins. Meaning Haskins is the starter. Let’s take away that smokescreen now. The pick is Young.
3.       Detroit Lions – CB Jeffrey Okudah, Ohio St Team Needs: OG, CB, EDGE, DT (previous: Okudah)
They signed Trufant to make Slay available for trade. Philly picked him up, paid him, and now the need for corner is there again. Slam dunk, book it.
4.       New York Giants – OT Mekhi Becton, Louisville Team Needs: LB, OT, EDGE (previous: Becton)
It depends what you think Gettleman wants. Does he want the mountain man? The athlete? The technician? Or Mr. Dependable? Or does he throw everyone off and keep addressing LB and take Simmons? I have a feeling it will leak at who he prefers and I think it’s the mountain man.
5.       Miami Dolphins – QB Tua Tagovaiola, Alabama Team Needs: QB, RB, OT, iOL, DT, EDGE, S (previous: Tua)
The word on the street is Miami tried to fly Tua in at the last minute before facilities were shut down and prospects were no longer allowed to visit. They got Dobbins (wink) and Jordan Love in, instead. The Dolphins have been in love with this kid for too long to pass on him now.
6.       Los Angeles Chargers – QB Justin Herbert, Oregon Team Needs: QB, OT, RB (previous: Herbert)
Brady is in Tampa. They aren’t trading or signing a free agent QB. Welcome the new face of the franchise. He doesn’t have to move too, too far.
7.       Carolina Panthers – LB Isaiah Simmons, Clemson Team Needs: DT, CB, LB, iOL (previous: Brown)
First switched pick from 2.0 to 3.0. The reason for the switch isn’t because of Brown or Simmons. I think the Panthers philosophy is different than I expected. They go out and sign Teddy for 3 years to be their QB instead of obviously tanking. They want to compete and not be an embarrassment. A DT is going to get lost in the mud. Simmons will fly around everywhere and replace the former face of the franchise, Luke Kuechly.
8.       Arizona Cardinals – OT Tristan Wirfs, Iowa Team Needs: DT, EDGE, LB, OT (previous: Wirfs)
With Derrick Brown on the board, they may think long and hard about that. But they will defer to coach, who is offensively minded, in securing a much-needed stop gap at right tackle.

9.       Jacksonville Jaguars – DT Derrick Brown, Auburn Team Needs: DT, LB, CB, WR, OT (previous: Henderson)
Now this is what a good tank looks like. Normally you fire your GM and coach when you’re about to do this because you know they won’t last through to see the end of this. Bold strategy, Cotton. Goodbye over-priced Foles. Hello #TankForTrevor. BPA pick here.
10.   Cleveland Browns – OT Jedrick Wills, Alabama Team Needs: OT, S, LB (previous: Wills)
Browns made a bunch of moves in early free agency. Signing Hooper at TE but more importantly Jack Conklin for their RT spot. Their new coach comes from Minnesota where they… like to run the ball and keep their QB upright. The last hole? Left tackle. Becton or Wills here. Book it.
11.   New York Jets – OT Andrew Thomas, Georgia Team Needs: OT, WR, iOL, EDGE (previous Thomas)
LOL did the Jets know they can sign crappy players for less than $10M a year? New York “reset” their bad OL with a below average bunch of signings to address it. If they feel they did sufficient work, this could be WR1. But they did not do sufficient work so this should still be a tackle. Last good one goes to Gang Green.
12.   Las Vegas Raiders – WR Jerry Jeudy, Alabama Team Needs: WR, CB, DT (previous: Simmons)
The Raiders had a very quiet free-agency period. Not quiet as in didn’t sign people. Quiet as in, they signed a lot of mid-tier guys that aren’t overpaid and should be immediate help. The one position they didn’t really address? You guessed it. I have Lamb>Jeudy now, but I think Jeudy will be more highly coveted by the guys who love winners.
13.   San Francisco 49ers (from Indianapolis Colts) – WR CeeDee Lamb, Oklahoma Team Needs: CB, WR, iOL, DT
TRADE! This happened on the 1st day of free agency when Deforest Buckener (the guy who I think didn’t get enough credit) was traded to the Colts straight up for pick 13. Great trade for both sides. San Fran is likely to trade back either here or at 31 to get more picks but the value of a #1 WR here is too good to pass up.
14.   Tampa Bay Buccaneers – DT Javon Kinlaw, South Carolina Team Needs: DT, OT, RB (previous: Kinlaw)
TB in TB. Really, really weird but its official. And now that it is official, all the chips are in the center. 2-year Super Bowl window and you got to attack it. I think the Bucs move up to get Wills or Wirfs personally (maybe to JAX at 9) because they have to make sure Brady is protected. But if they stay pat… Barrett is back, secondary looked better at the end of last year (still want to add there later), but Suh is gone. Get Kinlaw there to go alongside the nose tackle of Vita Vea.
15.   Denver Broncos – WR Henry Ruggs III, Alabama Team Needs: WR, OT (previous: Ruggs)
These WRs could go in any order, if there is one here, I think it should be Ruggs and I think Denver would love that. They will worry about Philly/Minny jumping them for him but this is a perfect spot for the speedster.
16.   Atlanta Falcons – CB CJ Henderson, Florida Team Needs: EDGE, CB, DT, RB (previous: Chaisson)
I’m still of the belief that this could be Chaisson… but they added Fowler in FA and let Trufant go. Corner seems the bigger issue and with Brady and Brees in the division… might want to fix that.
17.   Dallas Cowboys – EDGE K’Lavon Chaisson, LSU Team Needs: CB, S, EDGE (previous: McKinney)
Seems like this is the last spot where you feel like you got a home run pick. Chaisson is a great outside bend rusher. Robert Quinn benefited last year from having a running mate in Lawrence on the other side. Chaisson will be in a perfect spot for him to succeed with Quinn in Chicago now.
18.   Miami Dolphins (from Pittsburgh Steelers) – OT Austin Jackson, USC Team Needs: RB, OT, iOL, DT, EDGE, S (previous: Delpit)
It’s a reach. But some “sources” have said he won’t make it out of the top 15. Relatively unknown because he had a quiet year after having a bone marrow transplant for his sister in the last offseason. Flores likes high character guys. He eats characters (and nails) for breakfast. He is naturally a left tackle and I worry that Josh Jones hasn’t gotten significantly better throughout his time in college.
19.   Las Vegas Raiders (from Chicago Bears) – CB Kristian Fulton, LSU Team Needs: DT, CB (previous: Queen)
I’m going to keep harping on winners in Oakland. They want winners. Luckily for them LSU, Alabama and Clemson have quite a few good players in this draft. Corner isn’t a dire need but it could be upgraded after they had some struggles from 2nd round pick Mullen out of Clemson last year.
20.   Jacksonville Jaguars (from Los Angeles Rams) – S Xavier McKinney, Alabama Team Needs: DT, CB, WR, OT (previous: Murray)
I have no idea what this pick will bring. There are so many needs on this team after letting go of Ramsey, Campbell, Bouye, Ngakoue (likely to be traded because he has said he isn’t playing), and Smith retiring all within the span of a year. There are still some decent pieces here, but the core that was in the AFC Champ game is gone. BPA here and hope for the best.
21.   Philadelphia Eagles – WR Justin Jefferson, LSU Team Needs: WR, CB, S, LB, EDGE (previous: Jeudy)
Malcolm Jenkins is gone which leaves a nice safety sized hole in the swiss-cheese secondary that is the city of brotherly love. Corner, safety and wide receiver are all so deep this year that it makes sense for Philly to make a huge splash up or move back and collect some more picks. But if they stay, the best WR on the board has less question marks than the best CB and safety.
22.   Minnesota Vikings (from Buffalo Bills) – CB Jeff Gladney, TCU Team Needs: CB, WR, DT, iOL, EDGE
TRADE! Diggs is now in Buffalo for a monster deal including their first-round pick but solves Buffalo’s biggest issue of getting a target for Allen. (PS that’s why you hire a GM, Houston.) The Vikings are in a similar boat to Philly. Needs at corner and WR. I think they would’ve taken Jefferson here, but they like Gladney a lot to rebuild the now-empty cornerbacks’ room.
23.   New England Patriots – EDGE Zack Baun, Wisconsin Team Needs: QB, WR, EDGE, TE (previous: Baun)
HOT DIGGITY!!! REJOICE AFC EAST FANS!!! WE DON’T HAVE TO DEAL WITH HIM ANYMORE! Yes, we still have to deal with Bill but Stidham or Hoyer>Tommy all day long. It sounds like they are going forward with that being the QB competition, but it wouldn’t shock me if this pick is Jordan Love. Untapped potential at QB for him. For now? I’m thinking this is a trade-back or BPA. Suddenly all of those band-aids are going to be ripped off without Tom at the helm. They lost Van Noy to Miami. The reason Miami probably won’t take Baun? He is a slightly smaller, bendier Van Noy.
24.   New Orleans Saints – LB Patrick Queen, LSU Team Needs: OG, CB, LB (previous: Shenault)
Signing Sanders in free agency was a genius move. Such a good deal and fills a massive hole as someone else to catch passes in this offense. They don’t have a 2nd round pick but can probably address interior offensive line later. So, the team goes BPA (in this case position available) and gets their hometown player, while also filling a need.
25.   Minnesota Vikings – WR Denzel Mims, Baylor Team Needs: CB, WR, DT, iOL, EDGE (previous: Fulton)
With the 22nd pick, the Vikings can try for BPA at their first pick or to make sure they get their guy in front of NE and NO. They could go edge here for someone like Gross-Matos or Epenesa, but Mims will fill in perfectly for Diggs as a great pass catcher, but also a blocker and humble player. Something that Diggs didn’t provide.
26.   Miami Dolphins (from Houston Texans) – S Grant Delpit, LSU Team Needs: RB, OT, iOL, DT, EDGE, CB, S (previous: Swift)
If they like 2 or 3 of these RBs (I think they prefer Dobbins), they can wait until the 2nd round to take one at a value and pick up a player with more positional value. Enter a “sure-fire” top 10 pick prior to September. This season, something was just off. Questions surrounding injury, poor vision to attack the ball-carrier surround him. But this player is a true-deep safety and when he is healthy was one of the best players in the country. Move McCain back to his better position of slot and this secondary is a no-fly zone.
27.   Seattle Seahawks – EDGE Yetur-Gross Matos, Penn St Team Needs: WR, EDGE, DT, CB, S, OT, iOL (previous: Davidson)
No word from Clowney is probably good news for Seattle who couldn’t compete for his services if the bidding got out of control. If they can resign him, they still may address the thin line but there are a lot of needs for a team that is consistently a contender. A trade-back is likely.
28.   Baltimore Ravens – LB Kenneth Murray, Oklahoma Team Needs: LB, iOL (previous: Gross-Matos)
Has anyone had a better offseason? They tagged Judon, traded for Campbell, got a 2nd round pick for their 3rd TE, and didn’t lose anyone in free agency that was critical. However, they could look to fix a hole that was there from the 2019 offseason. They have some good pieces here but the rich get richer with my top non-unicorn LB.
29.   Tennessee Titans – OT Lucas Niang, TCU Team Needs: OT, CB, EDGE, OG (previous: Taylor)
They will likely address RB in this draft so they don’t pay Henry next year. But Niang is your plug-and-play right tackle replacement for Conklin, assuming he is healthy. He was a bully in 2018 for the Horned Frogs but suffered some setbacks in 2019 that caused his play to taper off.
30.   Green Bay Packers – WR Laviska Shenault, Colorado Team Needs: WR, TE, LB (previous: Jackson)
A lot of people having him falling out of round 1 because of his combine where he hurt himself and didn’t look right. However, the tape screams offensive weapon. Kamara as a wide receiver is his potential. Would love to see him hook up with ARod and of this teams’ obvious needs, he is the best player.
31.   San Francisco 49ers – CB Trevon Diggs, Alabama Team Needs: CB, WR, DT, iOL (previous: Diggs)
They will likely draft a CB at some point whether here, or via trade down. I still love this player-team fit because of the sure hands of Diggs. He didn’t seem to be up to par with playing Press at Bama so a zone team who can keep his eyes in the backfield may be better suited for his talents.
32.   Kansas City Chiefs – CB AJ Terrell, Clemson Team Needs: CB, LB, iOL (previous: Gladney)
Getting this pick right is a shot in the dark. But corner is their biggest need. Value on the big board would say the interior offensive lineman are available and while the corner position is deep, people seem to be picking them left and right. Let’s make sure the Chiefs don’t miss one.

2020 Post Combine Mock Draft 2.0

Here is my post-combine mock based on what people have heard as far as smokescreens, rumors, performances in Indy and previous tape. I have done a lot of research and have solidified some of my own opinions from sources like Draft Network, Bleacher Report, ESPN, NFL.com, and independent twitter scouts and their clips. I have not watched my own film, so take this with a grain of salt. Just doing it for fun. Again, there won’t be trades in the first couple of these, but we will work in some after free agency fills some needs and clears things up.

1.       Cincinnati Bengals – QB Joe Burrow, LSU Team Needs: QB, EDGE, WR (previous: Burrow)
9-inch hands aren’t changing this c’mon people.
2.       Washington Redskins – EDGE Chase Young, Ohio St Team Needs: WR, CB, OT, TE, CB (previous: Young)
Going to keep this from my last mock but put it in all caps.” If Washington trades out of this, they will need a Wentz-like haul.” Not happening from Miami folks.
3.       Detroit Lions – CB Jeffrey Okudah, Ohio St Team Needs: LB, CB, EDGE, OG (previous: Okudah)
More and more I think and hear rumors about how Miami likes Herbert, the more I think Miami may just sit at 5. Slay is forcing his way out of Detroit and even if he stays there Okudah is the 2nd best player in the class.
4.       New York Giants – OT Mekhi Becton, Louisville Team Needs: LB, OT, EDGE (previous: Wills)
I saw Becton here in a mock from Daniel Jeremiah at the NFL Network in January… I laughed. We knew he was athletic but my goodness he destroyed the combine. Gettleman needs to trade out of this pick because there are so many good options for them (Simmons, Wills, Becton, Wirfs, Thomas, Brown, etc.).
5.       Miami Dolphins – QB Tua Tagovaiola, Alabama Team Needs: QB, RB, OT, iOL, DT, EDGE, CB, S (previous: Tua)
The smokescreens are thick. But I’m not buying what Miami is trying to sell us. I don’t think any team could logically say they prefer Herbert over Tua, if his medicals check out. Tua wants to go to Miami. Miami has wanted him for over a year. It just will depend on if they trade up for him or not.
6.       Los Angeles Chargers – QB Justin Herbert, Oregon Team Needs: QB, iOL, OT, CB (previous: Herbert)
Not changing this until we know what they do in Free Agency or trades. So, for now they get their ticket selling QB via the draft,
7.       Carolina Panthers – DL Derrick Brown, Auburn Team Needs: DT, CB, LB, iOL (previous: Brown)
I don’t care if Brown didn’t have a great combine. He is a game wrecker. A player you can build your defensive line around. And let me tell you something… this is a big rebuild. #TankForLawrence
8.       Arizona Cardinals – OT Tristan Wirfs, Iowa Team Needs: DT, WR, OT (previous: Kinlaw)
I was selfish to mock him to Miami at 18. 4 tackles are going by 13 and to be honest… it might be by 10 or 11. Wirfs is great for this team who could use another tackle but also could push him into guard. And man did he have some kind of combine performance.

9.       Jacksonville Jaguars – CB CJ Henderson, Florida Team Needs: LB, CB, WR, OT (previous: Simmons)
Goodbye Bouye… hello Henderson. Henderson has a tackling issue. Mainly that he doesn’t like doing it. But his coverage skills liken him to gum on the bottom of your shoe. The popular comp? Marcus Peters who also isn’t a huge fan of tackling but has the most interceptions since he came into the league. This team is also in the midst of a franchise rebuild. Expect Foles to be on the trade block with the team going younger with Minshew.
10.   Cleveland Browns – OT Jedrick Wills, Alabama Team Needs: OT, S (previous: Becton)
Many believe Wills is the best tackle in this class. But if you ask those same people who has the highest ceiling? Becton. Who is the most athletic? Wirfs. Who has the most experience and is the most dependable? Thomas. It is really a bountiful top 4 tackle class and many teams rank them differently. Wills can play left or right side and that versatility will be great for the new regime under Andrew Berry.
11.   New York Jets – OT Andrew Thomas, Georgia Team Needs: OT, WR, iOL, EDGE (previous Thomas)
Jets have a ton of cap space to sign Conklin if they choose. If they do, maybe the go another direction at WR with Robby Anderson leaving via Free Agency. If they do go WR, I would expect Jeudy to be the pick because he will fit Gase’s offense more with his very crisp route running.
12.   Las Vegas Raiders – LB/S Isaiah Simmons, Clemson Team Needs: WR, OT, LB, CB (previous: Jeudy)
With 2 first round picks the Raiders can attack the draft however they would like. Simmons is a top 5 player. But he may just fall out of the top 10 because of the huge run on tackles. Mayock, their GM, loved his Clemson players last year because of their winning pedigree. Simmons has that and immense talent.
13.   Indianapolis Colts – WR CeeDee Lamb, Oklahoma Team Needs: WR, DT (previous: Lamb)
WHEN Rivers signs with the Colts in a couple weeks, they will look at what made him successful with the Chargers. The great talent surrounding him at all levels sure helped. Keenan Allen can run any route but is especially great at intermediate routes. Williams as a deep threat. Tight Ends in the end zone. Pass catching RBs. They have the deep threat and TE. They have many RBs so they are missing the intermediate. Hi CeeDee.
14.   Tampa Bay Buccaneers – DT Javon Kinlaw, South Carolina Team Needs: QB, EDGE, DT, OT, RB (previous: Chaisson)
There are a lot of ways this pick can go. But this feels like a trade back pick. Ruggs, Kinlaw and Chaisson are all available. But if the Bucs stay here it depends on what happens with Suh and Barrett. Barrett looks to be getting the tag so let’s slot Kinlaw in here until we add trades to the mix.
15.   Denver Broncos – WR Henry Ruggs III, Alabama Team Needs: WR, OT (previous: Ruggs)
Jeudy is the better player. Ruggs is much, much faster. Corner is much better with the Bouye trade. Simmons is likely to get tagged at safety. The tackles are all gone. I think they will go Ruggs based on rumors and the fact that while Jeudy should edge him on most boards, Ruggs still has great hands.
16.   Atlanta Falcons – EDGE K’Lavon Chaisson, LSU Team Needs: EDGE, CB, DT, RB (previous: Fulton)
I’m going to speak this into existence now. The last time Atlanta REALLY wanted their guy… they moved up all the way to 3 to get Julio. They love Chaisson. They will be trading up to 10-13 range to get ahead of Tampa.
17.   Dallas Cowboys – DB Xavier McKinney, Alabama Team Needs: CB, S, DT (previous: McKinney)
Seems like Byron Jones is gone. McKinney has played in multiple spots for Saban but can be a safety for this team that has been trying to find one for years.
18.   Miami Dolphins (from Pittsburgh Steelers) – DB Grant Delpit, LSU Team Needs: RB, OT, iOL, DT, EDGE, CB, S (previous: Wirfs LOL)
Yea… I know shame on me for being a homer and hoping Wirfs would fall. I won’t do it again. However, if Miami gets here with these available options? They will accept calls for teams looking to move up for WRs and LBs. However, Delpit was once a top 5 prospect. He had a down year but was also injured. His multiplicity should make Flores drool.
19.   Las Vegas Raiders (from Chicago Bears) – LB Patrick Queen, LSU Team Needs: WR, OT, LB, CB (previous: Queen)
Choice of best LB on the market at 19? Yessir Mayock will take that. I think based on their selections last year that they want winners. They grab Simmons, a winner, earlier and now they grab one of the outstanding pieces from the winning LSU Tigers.
20.   Jacksonville Jaguars (from Los Angeles Rams) – LB Kenneth Murray, Oklahoma Team Needs: LB, CB, OT (previous: Henderson)
It sounds like he is the next best LB to Simmons this year, who the Jags passed on to solidify their boundary with Henderson. If there were any decent EDGE guys, I would want to slot them here, but it doesn’t feel like Zack Baun would fit this defense.
21.   Philadelphia Eagles – WR Jerry Jeudy, Alabama Team Needs: WR, CB, S, LB, EDGE (previous: Shenault)
Big rumblings that Roseman is looking at moving up for a speedy WR. Ruggs isn’t likely going to get past Denver so that is the spot. However, Jeudy is probably the best WR in the class. Man, this is such a steal. Wentz to Jeudy? That’s my fantasy team next year. While it doesn’t seem likely, of the top 3 WRs I think Jeudy will be the one to fall because he doesn’t blow you away with athleticism or WOW plays. He is just so consistently great that he will be the best WR at the end of the day.
22.   Buffalo Bills – WR Justin Jefferson, LSU Team Needs: WR, EDGE (previous: Higgins)
Higgins didn’t work out at the combine, so we won’t see him till his Pro Day. But my goodness did Jefferson boost his stock in Indy. Buffalo doesn’t necessarily need a slot, but Jefferson isn’t necessarily just a slot. Josh Allen gets a shiny new toy.
23.   New England Patriots – EDGE Zack Baun, Wisconsin Team Needs: QB, EDGE, OG, TE (previous: Epenesa)
Nothing is known until Tom decides. With the assumption that he is back, I assume they get help on the offense via Free Agency and attack the spots where they lost people on defense, in the draft. Baun is a very good replacement for Van Noy and will set the edge as well as rush the passer.
24.   New Orleans Saints – WR Laviska Shenault, Colorado Team Needs: WR, OG, LB (previous: Cushenberry)
He came up gimpy after his 40 and didn’t work out after. But can you imagine having two Kamara’s on the field at the same time. And by that, I mean an all-purpose player. Laviska can line up in the backfield, take direct snaps, play slot, play outside and return kicks. Kind of feels like the perfect team for him considering Taysom and Kamara.
25.   Minnesota Vikings – CB Kristan Fulton, LSU Team Needs: CB, S, DT, iOL (previous: Gladney)
I feel like corners may continue to rise as we get closer to the draft since it is such a cornerstone position, which is bad news for Minny. Fulton is smaller than Gladney and not as heavy in run support but is much more capable of being left on an island.
26.   Miami Dolphins (from Houston Texans) – RB De’Andre Swift, Georgia Team Needs: RB, OT, iOL, DT, EDGE, CB, S (previous: Swift)
Say it ain’t so. I feel like Dobbins should be ahead of Swift for Miami’s purposes. Taylor also lit up the combine, but Swift still sounds like the consensus #1 back and Miami needs one so
27.   Seattle Seahawks – DL Marlon Davidson, Auburn Team Needs: WR, EDGE, DT, CB, S, OT, iOL (previous: Lewis)
The big domino here is whether Clowney resigns to stay. If he does, this could go a lot of different directions or it could stay with this one. Davidson isn’t as much of a freak as Clowney is, but he does everything very well and can line up anywhere from 5 tech to the 1 on the DL (5 tech is between the tackle and guard, 1 is between the center and guard).
28.   Baltimore Ravens – EDGE Yetur Gross-Matos, Penn St Team Needs: LB, EDGE, S, DT (previous: Murray)
I’ll admit… I have no idea. Not only do I not have someone to slot here based on need, but my Big Board has a bunch of system specific guys available and they don’t fit as well as I would like. Soooo, yea… Gross-Matos is good at setting the edge. Doesn’t have a lot of pass rush moves or twitch but is consistent. Maybe they can coach him up.
29.   Tennessee Titans – RB Johnathan Taylor, Wisconsin Team Needs: QB, RB, OT, CB, EDGE, OG (previous: Jones)
This is under the assumption that they don’t make the mistake of paying Henry a lot of money for a long time and instead get Brady or Tannehill signed long term. It seems like Conklin is long gone so they may address tackle as well, but if they don’t sign Henry this is the obvious pick.
30.   Green Bay Packers – OT Austin Jackson, USC Team Needs: WR, OT, TE, LB (previous: Jefferson)
He is raw and only 20. He is also climbing up draft boards. It seems like we always talk about the Packers having injuries on the OL. Let him sit behind one of the best LTs in the game (this sounds familiar), learn, and bulk up. Should do wonders.
31.   San Francisco 49ers – CB Trevon Diggs, Alabama Team Needs: S, CB, WR, iOL (previous: Delpit)
Free Agency will be interesting for this team who may lose more players than they would like. However, prior to that the biggest hole is a spot with quite a few decent players available. Their 2nd corner is just not that good. Diggs has great hands for a corner (like Sherman) and will make an instant impact behind the great pass rush.
32.   Kansas City Chiefs – CB Jeff Gladney, TCU Team Needs: RB, DT, CB, LB, iOL (previous: Davidson)
It doesn’t feel like they need to address the offense. So, let’s pretend like defense matters. Gladney is a willing tackler and shadowed the best of the best in the Big 12. Terrell will also get a long look because Clemson plays a very similar style of defense as KC.
