FINAL 2020 Mock Draft 8.0

FINAL 2020 Mock Draft 8.0

   1.      Cincinnati Bengals – QB Joe Burrow, LSU Team Needs: QB, EDGE, iOL, LB
Only way this isn’t the pick is if Mike Brown’s Wi-Fi crashes during their pick.
   2.      Washington Redskins – EDGE Chase Young, Ohio St Team Needs: WR, CB, OT, TE, CB, iOL
Going back to the basics of what Ron Rivera focuses on. When he was in Carolina, he put together an elite defense. Washington has some nice pieces on the defensive line. But you don’t pass on elite because you have nice.
   3.      Detroit Lions – CB Jeffrey Okudah, Ohio St Team Needs: OG, CB, EDGE, DT
The Lions brass is telling the media outright that they have offers for this pick. When does a GM ever outright say this in a press conference? Not only are they not trading, but this is a lie. Okudah is the guy they have had their eyes on for months.
   4.      New York Giants – OT Jedrick Wills, Alabama Team Needs: LB, OT, EDGE
I have heard A LOT of Simmons talk. Maybe they go there. But when you draft a RB at pick No. 2 and a QB at pick No. 6 in consecutive drafts and you’re still picking top 5. The offensive line is probably not the best. Wills is my number one tackle prospect and will be able to slide right into the right side of that line.
   5.      Miami Dolphins – QB Justin Herbert, Oregon Team Needs: QB, RB, OT, iOL, DT, EDGE, S
It’s over. I give up. I’m not happy about it. But at least we don’t trade up and give assets to take the guy. That’s worst-case scenario. Herbert is clearly QB3 based on talent. But when QB2 has injury concerns and your team’s doctors can’t get their hands on him closer to the draft… Reverse jinx? I hope so.
   6.      Los Angeles Chargers – QB Tua Tagovaiola, Alabama Team Needs: QB, OT, RB
I will say this. If an analyst that has said that Miami taking Tua at 5 is a big concern because of medicals, then goes and praises LA for taking him because he is “better” than Herbert, I will lose my god damn mind. The concern for Tua isn’t playing in 2020. It is playing in 2030.
   7.      Carolina Panthers – LB Isaiah Simmons, Clemson Team Needs: DT, CB, LB, iOL
Panthers start off the Rhule dynasty with a perfect fit. Athletic players who can run like their hair is on fire. Simmons will be the ultimate chess piece for this rebuilding team. If Simmons isn’t available, look out for a trade back for someone coming up for OT or WR.
   8.      Arizona Cardinals – DT Derrick Brown, Auburn Team Needs: DT, EDGE, LB, OT
Brown and Simmons are the only players that would keep them from going offensive tackle and they are guaranteed one of them. They “addressed” DT with Jordan Phillips in free agency. Now they have really addressed DT.
   9.      Jacksonville Jaguars – CB CJ Henderson, Florida Team Needs: EDGE, DT, LB, CB, WR, OT, S
I had this pegged in 2.0. Henderson is closer to Okudah because he is a better coverage corner than Okudah is. However, CJ isn’t as good in run support or in the big picture. Jags seem like a team that could be trading out here to pick up as many assets as possible, similar to the Panthers.
   10.  Cleveland Browns – OT Tristan Wirfs, Iowa Team Needs: OT, S, LB
If Cleveland stays here, it is for a tackle. If they move back, it is for a tackle. With no trades in this mock, they will stay and take the best tackle on their board to bookend the left side.
   11.  New York Jets – OT Andrew Thomas, Georgia Team Needs: OT, WR, iOL, EDGE
I am of the belief that they value CeeDee over one of these top 4 tackles. I am of the belief that Thomas is not one of those 4. Although if they go WR, the Jets will be the team to blow up the entire draft.
   12.  Las Vegas Raiders – WR CeeDee Lamb, Oklahoma Team Needs: WR, CB, DT, S
If CJ Henderson is here, I think he is the pick because they can address WR later on. However, with him being off the board and me having mocked all WRs to Vegas, this pick is a total crapshoot. That being said, I go Lamb as the rumblings have been getting louder that he is WR1 on their board.
   13.  San Francisco 49ers (from Indianapolis Colts) – WR Henry Ruggs III, Alabama Team Needs: CB, WR, iOL, DT
San Fran has speed on offense. So which WR should they get? How about one with more speed! Every skill position including Kittle at TE has great speed for their position and Ruggs will only make them more elite. As an FYI, I am beginning to think this could be Kinlaw or an OL to replace the aging Joe Staley.
   14.  Tampa Bay Buccaneers – OT Mekhi Becton, Louisville Team Needs: OT, RB
I now believe that Tampa will get one of the big 4 tackles unless a team like Miami jumps them. The Bucs #1 focus was finding the quarterback to bring them a Super Bowl again. Now that they accomplished that, it is time to protect him for as long as he can still stand.
   15.  Denver Broncos – WR Jerry Jeudy, Alabama Team Needs: WR, OT, CB
Word has been out that Denver wants Ruggs and I wouldn’t rule out a massive trade up to secure him. However, Jeudy also makes too much sense for this offense as a premier slot option for Lock. If they do trade up, I can see Jeudy being the selection over the other 2. I will add that as far as the top 3 WRs go, it is a true crapshoot. Ruggs could be the pick at 11, 12, 13, 15, 18 or 21. CeeDee at 9, 11, 12, 13, or 15. Jeudy at 7, 9, 11, 12, 13, or 15.
   16.  Atlanta Falcons – DT Javon Kinlaw, South Carolina Team Needs: CB, DT, RB
Atlanta wants to move up big time. I’m assuming it is for Henderson (word is also out they want Chase Young) so they will likely need to get into the top 10, but Kinlaw is a great consolation prize for staying put. Put him next to Grady Jarrett and you have one talented defensive line grouping.
   17.  Dallas Cowboys – C Cesar Ruiz, Michigan Team Needs: CB, S, EDGE, iOL
I’ve lost confidence in Chaisson here. There is a lot of noise that the Cowboys love Ruiz, but they don’t know if they want him at 17. Two things, one I believe Dallas will attempt to trade back for a team moving up for Love or an OT or a WR. Two, there is no such thing as a reach, it is just good player or bad player. Ruiz is a good player.
   18.  Miami Dolphins (from Pittsburgh Steelers) – OT Austin Jackson, USC Team Needs: QB, RB, OT, iOL, DT, EDGE, S
Also, wouldn’t be in love with this pick, but I feel that we will force the OT pick at 18 or move up to get one of the top 4. Jackson is still only 20 and won’t be ready in year 1 to start at left tackle. Went Jackson>Jones because historically Grier doesn’t value Group of 5 players as much. He especially likes guys from the SEC and Big 10. My preference of the available tackles would be Jackson, but I know nothing.
   19.  Las Vegas Raiders (from Chicago Bears) – CB AJ Terrell, Clemson Team Needs: WR, S, DT, CB
This is my least favorite pick of the draft. Wherever they go, will throw off the rest of the draft and it is their 2nd pick, so they don’t need to address a dire need. Trade back seems likely because they don’t have a 2nd rounder, but if they stay here, they won’t find Terrell to be a reach. Terrell will match up on the other side of Mullen who was drafted in the 2nd round from Clemson last year. Tapping into a championship pool is still part of the ideology of Mayock.
   20.  Jacksonville Jaguars (from Los Angeles Rams) – EDGE K’Lavon Chaisson, LSU Team Needs: EDGE, DT, CB, WR, OT, S, LB
CJ Henderson is a big get but there are many more needs to fill. This is likely to be a 2-3 year rebuild from the way things are looking right now. Chaisson could be the pick if they trade back from 15, but if he gets past Dallas and Miami, then Jacksonville will happily snatch him up. Chaisson is falling a bit because people may be having an issue matching up the lackluster sack numbers and figuring out how it will translate to the pros.
   21.  Philadelphia Eagles – WR Justin Jefferson, LSU Team Needs: WR, CB, S, LB, EDGE
Every single mock will have this as the pick, but I just can’t justify any other selection. The Eagles have a very solid team and need just a few players to keep running the division. I know Roseman likes to trade up, but personally I think staying put or trading back is the play here. Safety is something that needs to be addressed within the first 3 rounds.
   22.  Minnesota Vikings (from Buffalo Bills) – CB Jaylon Johnson, Utah Team Needs: CB, WR, DT, iOL, EDGE
Corner is a necessity with one of these 2 first rounders. Johnson is someone who has a lot more inconsistencies than I would like out of a 1st round corner, however there is a lot of 1st round buzz on his name. Additionally, the Vikings tend to look for hard-nosed, tough players for this position, that is Johnson to a T.
   23.  New England Patriots – LB Kenneth Murray, Oklahoma Team Needs: QB, WR, EDGE, TE, LB
Patriots have always had needs, but Brady made them look less dire because he was so elite. Looking at this front 7 on defense for the Pats, I’m not scared at all. They need multiple LBs, EDGE, and a Nose. You haven’t even gotten into the offensive skill position woes. Murray is a pick that I will be upset if I get right because I don’t want to play against him twice a year with his down-hill mindset.
   24.  New Orleans Saints – LB Patrick Queen, LSU Team Needs: OG, CB, LB
Do the Saints look to a future beyond Brees and go Love? Its too rich for me with the limited draft capital New Orleans has. Let’s stay put and select the local kid at a position that desperately needs help. Queen will become the captain of the defense once the captain of the offense retires next year.
   25.  Minnesota Vikings – EDGE Yetur Gross-Matos, Penn St Team Needs: CB, WR, DT, iOL, EDGE
With the cornerback selected, I can see a trade back to accumulate more picks. However, if they stay put, I like BPA approach because they have a lot of areas they can improve. Gross-Matos will come in to replace the big-bodied Griffen on the defensive line. Keep an eye on their safety Harris as a trade candidate to get back into one of these higher rounds.
   26.  Miami Dolphins (from Houston Texans) – S Xavier McKinney, Alabama Team Needs: RB, OT, iOL, DT, EDGE, CB, S
Well, I hate this first round for Miami. Which means it’ll probably happen. McKinney is the playmaker that Brian Flores lost in Minkah last year, just not as elite. McKinney will be able to move around from nickel to safety just like Bobby McCain. This is exactly the type of move Flores will be banging the table for.
   27.  Seattle Seahawks – OT Isaiah Wilson, Georgia Team Needs: WR, EDGE, DT, CB, S, OT, iOL
Seattle has many needs and they will most definitely not be selecting at 27. However, I feel that Isaiah Wilson would be the perfect player for their scheme on offense. Wilson is raw in many ways, but he is also a tractor in the run game. Seattle wants to run the ball. 1+1=2
   28.  Baltimore Ravens – LB Zack Baun, Wisconsin Team Needs: LB, iOL
I DON’T KNOW! I loved Ruiz at this spot, but I do have a feeling that he won’t be available because of teams like Dallas and Miami that have needs at interior offensive line. However, Baun is a scheme fit like no other. The Ravens feature a defensive scheme that isn’t as multiple as the New England ideals. But is a defense that values EDGE/LBs that can rush the passer but also cover. That’s what Baun does better than anyone in this class.
   29.  Tennessee Titans – CB Jeff Gladney, TCU Team Needs: OT, CB, EDGE, OG, DT
The Titans lost Jack Conklin in free agency but were able to keep Tannehill and Henry. However, one of the more underrated losses they had was Logan Ryan at slot corner. A staple in their run defense and a leader. Gladney won’t step into a captain role in year 1, but he is able to play slot or outside and is one of the best run stoppers among corners in this class.
   30.  Green Bay Packers – QB Jordan Love, Utah St Team Needs: WR, TE, LB
For the record, I do not think Green Bay will select Jordan Love even if he is there. The Colts or another team will move up for him before he gets here. However, he will be going in the first round and if there were no trades in a real draft, this is a total Packers move. 40+ years of QB dominance because you know Love will get 3 years to sit behind Rodgers.
   31.  San Francisco 49ers – CB Trevon Diggs, Alabama Team Needs: CB, WR, DT, iOL
San Fran will not be selecting at 13 and 31 (and possibly neither). They have no picks in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th rounds so they will certainly move back and collect some picks at some point. However, if they get a high 2nd round pick or stayed at 31, I really like this player/team fit. Length is very coveted in this defense and he should be best for a zone/cover 3 scheme. Guess what the 49ers play?
   32.  Kansas City Chiefs – RB D’Andre Swift, Georgia Team Needs: CB, LB, iOL, RB
Can you imagine? The Chiefs are just messing with the rest of the NFL now. They don’t need a running back. Damien Williams just had over 100 yards in the Super Bowl. But remember when this team had Kareem Hunt? Their offense was unstoppable. Swift is the most complete back in this class, however I could see the Chiefs liking Clyde Edwards-Helaire because of his great pass catching skills.

This was a ton of fun to do this year. 8 total mocks and write-ups. The guys that I believe I probably am missing in this first round is Josh Jones, Kristian Fulton, Ezra Cleveland, Brandon Aiyuk. Guys that I have in my mock that I don’t necessarily think should be there but are there because of team fit/buzz are Jaylon Johnson, D’Andre Swift, Trevon Diggs, Isaiah Wilson. We will see at the end of the day, but I really like how 85% of this mock turned out. Let me know what you guys think on twitter or text or whatever.

Mock Draft 7.0: Funky

Mock Draft 7.0: Funk-it-up

We are almost there guys. 3 more sleeps. I tried to get a little funkier with this mock than some of the others but a lot of the picks I slotted do have something to stand on. My final mock will be released in 2 days which I will use as my “gradable” mock. As always, I have done a lot of research and have solidified some of my own opinions from sources like Draft Network, Bleacher Report, ESPN, NFL.com, and independent twitter scouts and their clips. I have not watched my own film, so take this with a grain of salt. Just doing it for fun.

   1.      Cincinnati Bengals – QB Joe Burrow, LSU Team Needs: QB, EDGE, iOL, LB
I can get funky, but I won’t get stupid.
   2.      Washington Redskins – EDGE Chase Young, Ohio St Team Needs: WR, CB, OT, TE, CB, iOL
Again, there is no point in any other pick. I actually feel bad for Redskins fans because they don’t have the excitement of another pick until the 3rd round and this pick has been decided for so long.
   3.      Detroit Lions – CB Jeffrey Okudah, Ohio St Team Needs: QB, OT, RB
Chalk again you may think, but the important thing is no one is trading up for a QB.
   4.      New York Giants – LB Isaiah Simmons, Clemson Team Needs: LB, OT, EDGE
Simmons makes no sense in my head. I understand he is a top 5 player, but you have to use him in many ways. I feel the Giants would pigeonhole him into a safety role. Regardless, they need a tackle and now will be looking at the 7th or 8th best instead of THE best.
   5.      Miami Dolphins – QB Justin Herbert, Oregon Team Needs: QB, RB, OT, iOL, DT, EDGE, S
Here is where the funk begins. May not be very funky, but if you think about it not one single person would tell you that Justin is better than Tua. But with the injury concerns now there has to be a discussion.
   6.      Los Angeles Chargers – OT Andrew Thomas, Georgia Team Needs: QB, OT, RB
WOAH CRAZY CRAZY! Not only is LA passing on Tua (which I think they actually have a decent shot at doing because they do like Tyrod and seems like Herbert would be better for their system), but they are going for Thomas who has consistently been the lowest rated of the top 4 OTs. Thomas has the ability to come right in and start with no issues, but his ceiling is probably more limited than that of the other tackles.
   7.      Carolina Panthers – CB CJ Henderson, Florida Team Needs: DT, CB, LB, iOL
Word is that we have some teams that prefer Henderson to Okudah. I don’t see it from the overall body of work; however, Henderson is a better coverage player which is 80% of the position. Carolina needs a corner in some kind of way after losing Bradberry. Atlanta made a call, but Carolina wasn’t letting their division foe get their guy.
   8.      Arizona Cardinals – DT Derrick Brown, Auburn Team Needs: DT, EDGE, LB, OT
Last year’s draft there was a major shift in offensive talent for the Cards. They still need to address the OL, but the defense needs an influx of young talent. Enter Brown who has been comp’d to Suh and other game wreckers.
   9.      TRADE! Denver Broncos (from Jacksonville Jaguars) – WR Henry Ruggs III, Alabama Team Needs: WR, OT, CB
TRADE DETAILS: BRONCOS GET PICK 9, JAGUARS GET PICKS 15, 77, AND 95
Denver has pushed for a trade up in consecutive drafts. This year there are enough teams that will want to move back that they can get something done. Ruggs is WR1 for some teams, Jeudy and Lamb are in others. Broncos are missing that speed element, but Jeudy would also make a lot of sense here.
   10.  TRADE! Atlanta Falcons – DT Javon Kinlaw, South Carolina Team Needs: CB, DT, RB
TRADE DETAILS: FALCONS GET PICK 10, BROWNS GET PICKS 16, 78, and 2021 3RD
Top 10 type of talent. His athletic profile reminds me of Clowney. Falcons want to walk out of this draft with an upgraded defense for Dan Quinn. In Seattle, they had an outstanding secondary. Quinn is rebuilding the DL first.
   11.  New York Jets – WR CeeDee Lamb, Oklahoma Team Needs: OT, WR, iOL, EDGE
Everyone in NY is screaming for a WR because it’s a flash pan city. Alright here you go New York. In all reality, if we see someone jump them for a WR, I could see the Jets getting antsy and forgetting their tackle need and go for CeeDee. If CeeDee is gone, back to tackle.
   12.  Las Vegas Raiders – WR Jerry Jeudy, Alabama Team Needs: WR, CB, DT, S
Most mocks have the Raiders starting the run on WRs. They might miss out entirely. I think they would lean Ruggs and Lamb before Jeudy but c’mon Jeudy will be able to run every route in the Gruden offensive system from the jump. While it seems unlikely, if Henderson is here, I think the Raiders will wait till 19 or move back from there to get a WR.
   13.  TRADE! Miami Dolphins (from 49ers vis Colts) – OT Mekhi Becton, Louisville Team Needs: QB, RB, OT, iOL, DT, EDGE, S
TRADE DETAILS: DOLPHINS GET PICK 13 AND 2021 4TH, 49ERS GET PICKS 18 AND 56
Somehow only 1 tackle is off the board. Told you it’d be funky. I’d have to think they will value Wills above these guys if they select Tua because of the familiarity in a reduced offseason. But Herbert makes this pick Becton who reinforces the fact that we are going away from zone blocking and to a punch you in the mouth type of approach.
   14.  Tampa Bay Buccaneers – OT Tristan Wirfs, Iowa Team Needs: OT, RB
Bucs never imagined they’d have a choice between the consensus top 2 tackles. Wirfs is the selection just because he is able to be moved around to guard or either tackle spot. Protect Brady at all costs. With this move I could see them going out and signing Jason Peters to make sure they are ready for week 1 at LT.
   15.  Jacksonville Jaguars (from Denver Broncos) – EDGE K’Lavon Chaisson, LSU Team Needs: EDGE, DT, LB, CB, WR, OT, S
Jacksonville was really hoping that they’d have Simmons, Okudah, Brown or Henderson available at 9. Then they were really hoping they’d have Kinlaw available here. They take the best available defensive player with their 1st pick since they have needs all over the board on that side. Ngakoue will be traded at some point during this draft so the need for Chaisson will pop up.
   16.  TRADE! Philadelphia Eagles (from Browns via Falcons) – WR Justin Jefferson, LSU Team Needs: WR, CB, S, LB, EDGE
TRADE DETAILS: EAGLES GET PICKS 16 AND 97, BROWNS GET PICKS 21 AND 53
Eagles have been saying they feel good about the WR room, but they need to help Wentz any way they can, and I know they had injuries but that doesn’t mean you pass up on Jefferson. Trading up for Jefferson is an aggressive move that I’ve come to expect from Roseman. They aren’t jumping a WR needy team, they are making sure no one jumps them. If they stay put, I think safety is a sneaky pick to keep in mind.
   17.  Dallas Cowboys – LB Kenneth Murray, Oklahoma Team Needs: CB, S, EDGE, iOL
Why would they do this you ask? They have LVE and Jaylon Smith. They are one of the best young duos. Well, I’m not 100% sure either. I do know they wish the board fell differently. I also know they need depth at this spot and they also are concerned with LVE’s injuries last year enough to make Murray the pick.
   18.  San Francisco 49ers (from Dolphins via Steelers) – CB Trevon Diggs, Alabama Team Needs: CB, WR, iOL, DT
They miss out on the top 4 WRs but were in desperate need of additional picks. They drop back only to 18 and are able to select their corner of choice. Diggs has WR hands with the length that SF looks for at the position.
   19.  Las Vegas Raiders (from Chicago Bears) – CB AJ Terrell, Clemson Team Needs: WR, CB, DT, S
The Raiders have no 2nd rounders and desperately should want to trade back but can’t find a partner to match the compensation. Someone wanting Queen makes sense to me. The Raiders will attack the corner position regardless. Mayock values toughness and pedigree. Toughness is following around the #1 WR against some of the best teams in the nation like Jamarr Chase from LSU. He had one so-so showing in the Natty and people are down on him. He is my CB3.
   20.  Jacksonville Jaguars (from Los Angeles Rams) – OT Josh Jones, Houston Team Needs: EDGE, DT, CB, WR, OT, S
Left tackle needs to be addressed, but so does every position. Defense needs the most help, so going left tackle is a little against the grain. Josh Jones is the lone left tackle of the bunch that is good enough to step in on day 1. He won’t succeed right away but he will be able to make the adjustment faster than Jackson, Cleveland, Wilson, etc.
   21.  Cleveland Browns (from Philadelphia Eagles) – OT Ezra Cleveland, Boise St Team Needs: OT, S, LB
Maybe Cleveland shocks the world and actually selects at pick 10. If they do, I expect Wirfs if he is available. But the word I am hearing is they really like Ezra and they value stockpiling picks like they did in the Sashi Brown days. Ezra has the athleticism you want, but I don’t know if he is ready for the jump right into a starting job. The weight room will do him some good.
   22.  Minnesota Vikings (from Buffalo Bills) – CB Jeff Gladney, TCU Team Needs: CB, WR, DT, iOL, EDGE
4 corners, 6 OTs, 4 WRs all gone in front of Minny. Heartbreak for the Vikings as these are all positions they need to be addressing. There are still corners like Johnson out of Utah and Gladney that should be of interest though. Gladney isn’t as tall as their typical prototype but has the grit to play the annoying corner that was made famous from Rhodes.
   23.  TRADE! Green Bay Packers (from New England Patriots) – LB Patrick Queen, LSU Team Needs: WR, TE, LB
TRADE DETAILS: PACKERS GET PICK 23, PATRIOTS GET PICKS 30, 94, AND 175
The Packers have moved up and down the board in recent years and this year they realize they may need to make a significant jump to address their LB room. As we get closer to the draft, it seems like more and more teams have interest in Queen and Murray for good reason. Queen can fill part of the void left behind by Martinez and Fackrell.
   24.  New Orleans Saints – CB Kristian Fulton, LSU Team Needs: OG, CB, LB
New Orleans is in more of a “patch up holes to make another run with Drew” mode than anything else in my opinion. LB is the pick if one is available, but other teams like the Packers know that. Fulton can take over that 2nd corner spot next to Lattimore.
   25.  TRADE! Los Angeles Chargers (from Minnesota Vikings) – QB Jordan Love, Utah St Team Needs: QB, OT, RB
TRADE DETAILS: CHARGERS GET PICK 25, VIKINGS GET PICKS 37, 71, AND 2021 3RD
HERE IT IS! I know you guys were expecting this to be Tua, but the injury concerns are for real. Can he play in 2030? No one knows. If Love gets past the gauntlet of New England and New Orleans, the Chargers can feel great about trading up and beating Indy who has considerably more resources than they. Love can sit for a year behind an underrated Tyrod as this team learns to gel and hopefully can stay healthy for once.
   26.  Miami Dolphins (from Houston Texans) – S Xavier McKinney, Alabama Team Needs: QB, RB, OT, iOL, DT, EDGE, S
I am lower on the safety class than most, but Miami was able to get their QB and their OT of the future and only had to give up their late 2nd this year. Time to get Flores a piece on the backend to replace Minkah. Don’t rule out double dipping at tackle or offensive line here.
   27.  Seattle Seahawks – EDGE Yetur Gross-Matos, Penn St Team Needs: WR, EDGE, DT, CB, S, OT, iOL
The ultimate funky pick, Seattle actually using their natural 1st rounder. Gross-Matos fits exactly what they want to do on the DL. Doesn’t have the bend of a guy like Chaisson but has some decent pass rush moves and is best on stunts.
   28.  Baltimore Ravens – iOL Cesar Ruiz, Michigan Team Needs: LB, iOL
The teams that are constructed the best, always give themselves the option of BPA in round 1. Ruiz is comfortably that distinction and also gives them some improvement over undrafted and injured center Matt Skura.
   29.  Tennessee Titans – EDGE AJ Epenesa, Iowa Team Needs: OT, CB, EDGE, DT
Titans are in a great spot. I don’t think Epenesa will be here on draft day and even if he was, I could see Tennessee passing for a tackle or corner. Epenesa won’t fit every teams defense and because of that will fall from former top 15 pick to potential 2nd rounder.
   30.  New England Patriots (from Green Bay Packers) – LB Zack Baun, Wisconsin Team Needs: QB, WR, EDGE, TE, LB
Every pick for New England is funky because no one knows what the hell they are doing. Baun has the ability to play off ball and on, rush and drop into coverage. That is the type of versatility you won’t often find. Baun is a player that could drop into the 2nd or go as high as the early 20s. With the trade back, they have the capital to trade back into the 2nd if they wish.
   31.  TRADE! New York Giants (from San Francisco 49ers) – OT Isaiah Wilson, Georgia Team Needs: LB, OT, EDGE
TRADE DETAILS: GIANTS GET PICK 31, 49ERS GET PICKS 36 AND 110
Gettleman doesn’t trade down in the 1st, but he sure does trade back into the 1st. This is a great scenario for Daniel Jones and especially Saquon. Wilson isn’t very technically refined as a redshirt sophomore but is a road grader in the run game. 49ers went from 2 1sts and not another pick till the 5th round to 1 1st, 2 2nds, and a 4th
   32.  Kansas City Chiefs – LB Willie Gay Jr., Miss St Team Needs: CB, LB, iOL, RB
Can’t end a funky draft on a non-WOW pick. Willie was originally thought to be a mid-rounder because of the questions due to his off-field issues. However, he flies around on defense. Most of the success KC has had on defense is because of guys like Mathieu and Sorenson who can run sideline to sideline and tackle. Willie will do fine here.

You may have forgot, but I do not have anyone taking Tua. That is the biggest funky moment of this draft. I don’t know what team has the confidence to take a QB that has obvious injury concerns but hasn’t been able to truly check him out. He will go in the 2nd round in this scenario, and no I do not believe he will fall out of round 1. But this is a scenario we need to be ready for.

Mock Draft 6.0: 2 Rounds!

Here is my first ever 2 round mock so be nice. Biggest difference is we may see positions like RB, TE, Safety come off the board in a big way in round 2 because of the way the position has been valued in the draft. We also get teams like the Colts, Steelers, Bears, Texans, Bills and Rams entering the fray. All 32 teams are in the party. TRADES ARE ACTIVE. I have a total of 11 trades in this one because 2 rounds forces me to value both rounds as a team would rather than stacking as much assets as I can to get a team into the fray. I have done a lot of research and have solidified some of my own opinions from sources like Draft Network, Bleacher Report, ESPN, NFL.com, and independent twitter scouts and their clips. I have not watched my own film, so take this with a grain of salt. Just doing it for fun. Let’s get into it.

   1.       Cincinnati Bengals – QB Joe Burrow, LSU Team Needs: QB, EDGE, iOL, LB
Miami wants to move up. If the price is anything more than 5, 18, 2021 1st and a 2nd rounder then this will be the pick.
   2.       Washington Redskins – EDGE Chase Young, Ohio St Team Needs: WR, CB, OT, TE, CB, iOL
This is more of an obvious selection than Burrow to Cincy now.
   3.       TRADE! Los Angeles Chargers (from Detroit Lions) – QB Justin Herbert, Oregon Team Needs: QB, OT, RB
TRADE DETAILS: CHARGERS GET PICK 3, LIONS GET PICK 6, PICK 37, 2021 2ND, 2021 4TH
Chargers need to jump the Dolphins to get their QB of choice. It is slowly becoming clear that Tua may not be QB2 on anyone’s boards because they can’t get their Doctors to look at him again pre-draft.
   4.       New York Giants – OT Tristan Wirfs, Iowa Team Needs: LB, OT, EDGE
I am hearing Simmons here. But they need to go tackle to protect Daniel Jones and Saquon.
   5.       Miami Dolphins – QB Tua Tagovaiola, Alabama Team Needs: QB, RB, OT, iOL, DT, EDGE, S
I am of the belief that Herbert is the pick if both are available. But I also think that you may need to move up to get Herbert. Chargers have to get this pick right more than Miami because of the ammo MIA has. I don’t believe Love is the pick at 5, and I don’t believe this will be any other pick besides a QB. He is still an amazing player, no one knows how long he will be able to play though.
   6.       Detroit Lions (from LA Chargers) – CB Jeffrey Okudah, Ohio St Team Needs: OG, CB, EDGE, DT
Lions will take anything to move out of this pick. Even though they only pick up an additional 2 this year, it may be for the best to collect more picks in future years as there is less clarity this year on players than ever before because of the virus.
   7.       TRADE! New York Jets (from Carolina Panthers) – OT Jedrick Wills, Alabama Team Needs: OT, WR, iOL, EDGE
TRADE DETAILS: JETS GET PICK 7, PANTHERS GET PICK 11 AND 79, AND A 2021 4TH
Jets don’t have to give up their 2nd or the better of their 2 3rds. They can sit tight and select the best tackle available to them at 11 or pay a modest price to make sure they get their guy. I am under the belief that tackle is the pick here or they trade back into the first to select one if they go WR first.
   8.       Arizona Cardinals – DT Derrick Brown, Auburn Team Needs: DT, EDGE, LB, OT
Birdies are telling us that Brown is the pick and I don’t want to toot my own horn, but I was banging the table for DT to be the pick in Mock 1.0 (had Kinlaw because Brown was taken). If Brown goes at 7, I think they go back to RT and pickup Wills or Wirfs.
   9.       Jacksonville Jaguars – LB Isaiah Simmons, Clemson Team Needs: EDGE, DT, LB, CB, WR, OT, S
Jags may be interested in trading back, but not if Simmons is available.
   10.   TRADE! Miami Dolphins (from Cleveland Browns) – OT Mekhi Becton, Louisville Team Needs: QB, RB, OT, iOL, DT, EDGE, S
TRADE DETAILS: DOLPHINS GET PICK 10, BROWNS GET PICK 18, PICK 56, 2021 2nd from HOU
I believe the Dolphins make a trade up. I believe they will trade up for a tackle, not a QB. A couple teams like Jacksonville, Cleveland, and Carolina all are teams that may be looking to collect quite a few picks. Miami needs to get their LT of the future. I believe there is a large difference between Becton/Thomas and Jones/Jackson.
   11.   Carolina Panthers (from New York Jets) – DT Javon Kinlaw, South Carolina Team Needs: DT, CB, LB, iOL
Panthers should be collecting picks. Rumors are that they actually prefer Kinlaw to Brown and so if they can collect picks and pick their guy. Win-win.
   12.   Las Vegas Raiders – WR CeeDee Lamb, Oklahoma Team Needs: WR, CB, DT, S
I have now successfully mocked each of these 3 WRs to the Raiders so I cannot be wrong. I can see them taking all of these players to be honest. Today I am on Lamb because he provides a true WR1 in the sense of someone who you can trust to come down with the football when you need a play.
   13.   San Francisco 49ers (from Indianapolis Colts) – WR Jerry Jeudy, Alabama Team Needs: CB, WR, iOL, DT
There is an argument to be had that this is Ruggs. Shanahan values speed over anything else. Ruggs has that and has great hands. Jeudy is fast but it’s not even a race. But I go with Jeudy because of the void that Sanders leaves as a possession player that JimmyG can rely on to be where he needs to be.
   14.   Tampa Bay Buccaneers – OT Andrew Thomas, Georgia Team Needs: OT, RB
If the Bucs can land one of these guys without moving up… the only way it happens is if we see a trade up from someone behind them like Denver or Miami going to get their guy. The players the Bucs need to see taken ahead of them are of the following: Kinlaw or Henderson, 3 OTs, 3 QBs, 2 WRs.
   15.   Denver Broncos – WR Henry Ruggs III, Alabama Team Needs: WR, OT, CB
Denver will talk to teams about jumping to that 7-11 sweet spot to get Ruggs, but he is here at 15. It’s a big ask for them to give up picks considering they don’t have any extra’s but they would to get Ruggs if they don’t think he will be there.
   16.   Atlanta Falcons – CB CJ Henderson, Florida Team Needs: CB, DT, RB
This pick can be had for the right price. An EDGE needy team that wants Chaisson like MIN/JAX/PHI. If the Falcons do stay put, Henderson is the pick. Trufant signing with Detroit leaves a huge void on a team that had a terrible defense last year to begin with. Henderson is the best man cover corner in this draft, just not as all-around talented as Okudah.
   17.   Dallas Cowboys – EDGE K’Lavon Chaisson, LSU Team Needs: CB, S, EDGE, iOL
There are enough secondary pieces in the 2nd that they can pick from the litter there. The EDGE class drop off is steep and Chaisson has rare athletic traits.
   18.   Cleveland Browns (from Dolphins via Steelers) – OT Josh Jones, Houston Team Needs: OT, S, LB
The new Cleveland GM is Andrew Berry. But Paul DePodesta comes from the Sashi Brown tree and he has a loud voice in the draft room. Sashi loved trading down. Turns out this is great for them, as they still get a powerful LT to protect Baker and pick up 2 2nds in the process.
   19.   TRADE! Indianapolis Colts (from Raiders via Bears) – QB Jordan Love, Utah St Team Needs: WR, TE, CB
TRADE DETAILS: COLTS GET PICK 19, RAIDERS GET PICK 34 AND 2021 1ST
JAX, NE, NO, GB. All teams that may have interest in Jordan Love. If you want your QB nowadays, this is the price you pay.
   20.   Jacksonville Jaguars (from Los Angeles Rams) – CB Kristian Fulton, LSU Team Needs: EDGE, DT, CB, WR, OT, S
I’ve heard an interesting comp for Fulton recently. AJ Bouye. Who the Jags payed top dollar for a few years ago, and just traded away because his production began to decline. Fulton can be up and down, but his style fits this system well.
   21.   Philadelphia Eagles – WR Justin Jefferson, LSU Team Needs: WR, CB, S, LB, EDGE
Queen and Murray top the big board for most here, but Jefferson is a great scheme fit and Philly frankly doesn’t value LBs in this part of the draft usually.
   22.   Minnesota Vikings (from Buffalo Bills) – CB AJ Terrell, Clemson Team Needs: CB, WR, DT, iOL, EDGE
Minnesota values tall, long, and strong corners at the point of attack that play tight man. They cannot find a more perfect fit than Terrell. Take the big need at corner here and address EDGE, WR, or one of the many other underrated needs this team has at 25.
   23.   TRADE! Baltimore Ravens (from New England Patriots) – LB Kenneth Murray, Oklahoma Team Needs: LB, iOL
TRADE DETAILS: RAVENS GET PICK 23, PATRIOTS GET PICK 28 AND 92
Ravens have the best roster and fewest needs. They have two 3rd rounders. Murray is THE missing player for this defense. Saints getting pissed that they missed on Love and now Murray.
   24.   New Orleans Saints – LB Patrick Queen, LSU Team Needs: OG, CB, LB
Saints are very interesting. Very few needs, so they could address anything. I will keep them going after the local LB in Queen, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the iOL Ruiz goes here.
   25.   Minnesota Vikings – EDGE Yetur Gross-Matos, Penn St Team Needs: CB, WR, DT, iOL, EDGE
This is a possible trade back spot; however, I think a lot of the teams in this area will try to trade back. With the question marks on some players because of the COVID-19 situation, many will likely try to collect picks for next year and will slide back because this part of the class is very deep. Having multiple picks between now and the top of the 3rd round is great for roster building. That being said, Minny will stay put and select the best EDGE on the board and wait on this very deep WR class. They won’t find a comparable EDGE later.
   26.   TRADE! Detroit Lions (from Dolphins via Texans) – EDGE AJ Epenesa, Iowa Team Needs: OG, CB, EDGE, DT
TRADE DETAILS: LIONS GET PICK 26, DOLPHINS GET PICK 35 AND 85
Lions trade back from 3 to 6 and pick up that extra 2nd at 37. They don’t mind parting with 35 and an extra 3rd to get back up and get a perfect scheme fit for Patricia in the New England defense. Epenesa isn’t your bendy speed rusher, but this style of defense values a run-stuffing, pressure getting big man on the edge.
   27.   TRADE! Cleveland Browns (from Seattle Seahawks) – S Xavier McKinney, Alabama Team Needs: OT, S, LB
TRADE DETAILS: CLEVELAND GETS PICK 27, SEATTLE GETS PICK 41 AND 74
The Browns picked up a 2nd in their trade back with Miami. So, they trade back up into the first to make sure they get the top safety on their board and only give up one of their 2 3rd rounders. McKinney can play deep or can move up and play the slot if they need.
   28.   New England Patriots (from Baltimore Ravens) – DT Ross Blacklock, TCU Team Needs: QB, WR, EDGE, TE
They have lost more than Brady this offseason. Danny Shelton, their Nose, Kyle Van Noy, their best pass rusher and Jamie Collins at LB. They may sit tight and take Murray themselves at 23. But Blacklock has been excellent when healthy in the Big 12. Addressing that front seven on defense will be priority #1 for Belichick.
   29.   Tennessee Titans – CB Jeff Gladney, TCU Team Needs: OT, CB, EDGE, DT
There are 4 top 50 or so prospects this year from TCU. Gladney may be the best of them all. He is a stubborn, feisty man corner. Tennessee plays tight man coverage and just lost one of their more underrated players in Logan Ryan at nickel. Gladney can learn the position there or kick Adoree’ Jackson into nickel as well. Jeff isn’t crazy tall, but he makes up for it in grit.
   30.   Green Bay Packers – WR Laviska Shenault, Colorado Team Needs: WR, TE, LB
I liked Shenault here in an earlier mock because this type of a gadget for Rodgers is just what he needs to improve this offense. If Love falls to 30, they may consider it. But they are still in a Super Bowl window and need to address weapons for Aaron ASAP. He does have a medical concern which may have him fall in the draft.
   31.   TRADE! Jacksonville Jaguars – OT Austin Jackson, USC Team Needs: EDGE, DT, LB, CB, WR, OT, S
TRADE DETAILS: JAGUARS GET PICK 31, 49ERS GET PICKS 42, 116, 140 AND 2021 4TH ROUND PICK (FROM LA RAMS)
This team has so many needs with the recent upheaval of their roster. Blacklock would’ve been a nice fit here, but when you trade back into the 1st round you are going for someone you need to make sure you have locked down for 5 or 6 years. Austin Jackson is young and raw but has immense room to grow. Safety could be a thought for this trade, but they took Simmons earlier and he is versatile enough to be tasked with multiple roles.
   32.   Kansas City Chiefs – RB De’Andre Swift, Georgia Team Needs: CB, LB, iOL, RB
Hearing this is pick is going to be a weapon for Mahomes. In an abbreviated offseason, the one position that needs to “adjust” the least is the RB position. Corner is a need, but they have resigned Breeland and it isn’t as necessary to add now.
   33.   Cincinnati Bengals – iOL Cesar Ruiz, Michigan Team Needs: QB, EDGE, iOL, LB
Bengals get the number 1 player on the board in both rounds. Ruiz is a versatile player and can succeed at a high level either at center or guard. Billy Price didn’t pan out a few years ago, but it’s time to retool and get Burrow surrounded with talent.
   34.   Las Vegas Raiders (from Colts via Redskins) – CB Noah Igbinoghene, Auburn Team Needs: DT, CB, S, WR
Picking up a future 1st rounder is no small accomplishment, so when you get the chance you jump at it. Especially when the positions you covet are as deep as the corner and safety groups this year. Noah is the pick because of his pure speed that Oakland could use against a guy like Tyreek Hill.
   35.   Miami Dolphins (from Detroit Lions) – RB JK Dobbins, Ohio St Team Needs: QB, RB, OT, iOL, DT, EDGE, S
They snuck in a last-minute visit to the team HQ before the mandatory lockdown with Dobbins. Out of every RB, they called him. He is the 1A to Jordan Howard.
   36.   New York Giants – S Grant Delpit, LSU Team Needs: LB, OT, EDGE
Best player available and a position that could be upgraded. If we went Simmons in Round 1, this would likely be Isaiah Wilson from Georgia. Really dark horse pick here is Willie Gay Jr from Miss. St. But I think everyone in NY would be stoked about this selection.
   37.   TRADE! Jacksonville Jaguars (from Lions via Chargers) – WR Brandon Aiyuk, Arizona St Team Needs: EDGE, DT, LB, CB, WR, OT, S
TRADE DETAILS: JAGUARS GET PICK 37, LIONS GET EDGE YANNICK NGAKOUE
Yannick is as good as gone, but I think teams will balk at the price of more than a 1st round pick. Jacksonville loads up in this draft with 4 top 40 selections. Rebuilding done right. WR isn’t the biggest need, but if they want to see if Minshew is the guy it is important to make sure they have the weapons at his disposal. Aiyuk is a blazer in space and that is one element this offense is missing.
   38.   Carolina Panthers – CB Jaylon Johnson, Utah Team Needs: DT, CB, LB, iOL
With the rebuild underway, I wouldn’t be surprised if they trade out of all their natural picks. But the need at cornerback is severe. Johnson also has the ability to play safety and that versatility should be attractive for a new coach.
   39.   Miami Dolphins – S Ashtyn Davis, California Team Needs: QB, RB, OT, iOL, DT, EDGE, S
Miami has a bunch of new position coaches including the safeties coach, former Cal defensive coordinator… do you see where I’m going with this one? Davis will give Miami the ability to put Bobby McCain back in the slot, and Davis’ speed at free safety will give Miami a feared defense.
   40.   Houston Texans (from Arizona Cardinals) – DT Justin Madubuike, Texas A&M Team Needs: EDGE, DT, iOL
The loss of DJ Reader will be a big one if not replaced by a big body like Justin. Justin isn’t a nose tackle, but does have a good speed to power game that will be able to free JJ Watt (or vice-versa) and Co.
   41.   Seattle Seahawks (from Cleveland Browns) – OT Isaiah Wilson, Georgia Team Needs: WR, EDGE, DT, CB, S, OT, iOL
Seattle’s first pick from their trade down in the 1st. Isaiah Wilson is a true hog-molly. A big, beefy right tackle that will fit the run-first style of the Seahawks. Their OL wasn’t good to begin with and they lost some depth, so addressing the OL is necessary.
   42.   San Francisco 49ers (from Jacksonville Jaguars) – CB Trevon Diggs, Alabama Team Needs: CB, WR, DT, iOL
After picking up 3 fourth rounders in this trade, they now have the flexibility to move up and down as they please. So, time to address the glaring need at corner opposite Sherman. Diggs is a former WR (like his brother), but Saban saw his potential on defense. He is best used in zone, which the 49ers ran better than anyone else last year.
   43.   TRADE! Philadelphia Eagles (from Bears via Raiders) – EDGE Zack Baun, Wisconsin Team Needs: WR, CB, S, LB, EDGE
TRADE DETAILS: EAGLES GET PICK 43, BEARS GET PICKS 53, 103, AND 145
Eagles are a team that aren’t afraid to move up to get their guy. I don’t know if Baun is the perfect fit in this system, but he is a 1st round player and shouldn’t have fallen this far. Schwartz used to be in charge of Detroit’s defense who employed similar versatile players. Baun will be used as a rusher on later downs and can be asked to drop in coverage as well.
   44.   Indianapolis Colts – WR Denzel Mims, Baylor Team Needs: WR, TE, CB
If this pick comes to reality, what a draft for Indy. QB of the future and an immediate upgrade at WR. Mims is best at contested catches and sometimes makes it a little harder on himself because he doesn’t get great separation. However, he has a great athletic frame (on paper) and if he can translate that to the game, this is a steal. He is also a very willing blocker.
   45.   Tampa Bay Buccaneers – RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire, LSU Team Needs: OT, RB
Tampa is crushing it. Get their tackle to protect Brady and now addressing a pass-catching RB for him. The Super Bowl window is open.
   46.   Denver Broncos – OT Ezra Cleveland, Boise St Team Needs: WR, OT, CB
The 1st rounder spent on Garrett Boles a few years back was a categorical miss. Can’t go back and change it, so they fix it by getting an athletic tackle who has been rising up draft boards. Some can see him popping into the 1st round.
   47.   Atlanta Falcons – RB Johnathan Taylor, Wisconsin Team Needs: CB, DT, RB
Signing Gurley could push the RB pick to the later rounds, but Taylor is such a good value here. Gurley wants to beat you with speed and athleticism. Taylor can do that, but he also doesn’t mind running you over in the process. Neville Gallimore DT from Oklahoma will receive a strong look here.
   48.   New York Jets – WR Jalen Reagor, TCU Team Needs: OT, WR, iOL, EDGE
Jets fans may be pushing for Tee Higgins here, but the tall, less-athletic WR isn’t sought after by Gase as much as someone like Reagor with quickness and speed.
   49.   Pittsburgh Steelers – DT Neville Gallimore, Oklahoma Team Needs: DT, iOL, RB
Replacing all of a 6”2 305 lb. Javon Hargrave is a tall task. Gallimore is 6”2 304 lbs.… just saying. Gallimore isn’t as good at the read & react game, which is something he will need to learn at the next level. But he does bring a tenacity to attack the backfield that Pittsburgh covets in their DL.
   50.   Chicago Bears – iOL Lloyd Cushenberry, LSU Team Needs: iOL, CB, S, TE
After the surprising retirement of Kyle Long at guard in January, this a great part of the draft to find that 2nd tier of interior OL (after Ruiz). Cushenberry played a lot of center but may be better suited for guard at the next level.
   51.   Dallas Cowboys – S Antoine Winfield Jr, Minnesota Team Needs: CB, S, EDGE, iOL
If you can’t believe he lasted this long, Dallas is right there with you. Injury question marks are the reason, and without a normal pre-draft process, he fell a little bit. Antoine can play a true deep safety, but he is also able to move to nickel and cares not for his own body when going down into the box for a tackle.
   52.   Los Angeles Rams – OT Prince Tega Wanogho, Auburn Team Needs: LB, EDGE, iOL, OT, WR
The Rams will be the worst team in the NFC West this year. Their roster building idea of trading all of their draft picks for proven talent was working for the Super Bowl window. But then they decided they wanted to pay Goff and Gurley and Cooks. Then they realized they needed to pay Donald, and now Ramsey. They have run out of money. Whitworth is 38 years old at LT and the team needs to have a plan for when he hangs them up. Here is their insurance policy.
   53.   Chicago Bears (from Philadelphia Eagles) – S/LB Jeremy Chinn, Southern Illinois Team Needs: iOL, CB, S, TE
Really love this kid. A true chess piece that will be able to play safety, nickel, LB, and can rush the passer. A poor man’s Isaiah Simmons. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he is taken in the late first round.
   54.   Buffalo Bills – EDGE Terrell Lewis, Alabama Team Needs: EDGE, CB, RB
Terrell has been a stud when on the field. The issue is that he hasn’t been on the field very often. After acquiring Diggs, it is time to fill in some of the spots on defense and EDGE lost Lawson and Alexander this offseason.
   55.   Baltimore Ravens (from New England via Atlanta) – iOL Robert Hunt, Louisiana Team Needs: LB, iOL
Superficial things like a small school have never distracted the Ravens from taking rock stars. Hunt played tackle at ULL, but projects to the guard spot at the next level.
   56.   Cleveland Browns (from Dolphins via Saints) – LB Willie Gay Jr, Mississippi St Team Needs: OT, S, LB
Prior to the combine, no one was taking this kid seriously. Then he blew the roof off that dome in Indy with his 40 and athletic testing. He had some off-field issues that caused him to miss half of last season, but his athletic prowess is something Cleveland should covet.
   57.   Los Angeles Rams (from Houston Texans) – EDGE Josh Uche, Michigan Team Needs: LB, EDGE, CB, iOL, OT
Josh Uche had the best pass rush win rate of all players last year in college. However, it is partially because he had very limited reps rushing the passer, under 100 reps total. The good thing about that is that the Rams can use him similar to how Michigan did. Uche can be asked to rush on later downs and cover on earlier downs. He isn’t as polished as Zack Baun is, but this position needs to be addressed.
   58.   Minnesota Vikings – WR Tee Higgins, Clemson Team Needs: CB, WR, DT, iOL, EDGE
Diggs’ trade leaves their ability to stretch the field a little hindered. Higgins is good at just that. He isn’t very fast but he is good at the contested catch and making sure you get Cousins another weapon should be of the utmost importance.
   59.   Seattle Seahawks – EDGE Curtis Weaver, Boise St Team Needs: WR, EDGE, DT, CB, S, OT, iOL
Clowney has yet to sign as of this writing. They still need to address the position even if he does come back. Weaver is an odd study. He doesn’t have the body-type or athletic standing to explain why he is so consistent with getting to the QB. He beats blocks by being very technical, but he is good for about 8 sacks a year or so.
   60.   Baltimore Ravens – RB Cam Akers, Florida St Team Needs: LB, iOL
This is a true luxury pick but when you are this talented you can do it. Ingram is now on the wrong side of 30 and can be cut next year to save a few million and only have a minimal dead cap. Akers could prove to be the best back in this year’s class. He falls because of how poorly his offensive line at FSU made him look sometimes.
   61.   Tennessee Titans – OT Lucas Niang, TCU Team Needs: OT, CB, EDGE, DT
As big of a hole Conklin will leave, I believe Tennessee believes this position can be taken care of with their in-house talent. However, when you have a guy like Niang that falls due to a late season injury, you have to take the chance. His tape is very solid and he would probably be a 1st round draft pick without the injury.
   62.   Green Bay Packers – LB Malik Harrison, Ohio St Team Needs: WR, TE, LB
If Queen or Murray fall to them at 30, I think that is no doubt the play. But there are a few options for rangy middle of the field players in this round. Malik Harrison isn’t as sideline to sideline as Queen or Murray are, but he does give you the tackling and “thumping” power to bring some fear to the middle of the defense.
   63.   TRADE! New England Patriots (from Chiefs vis 49ers) – QB Jalen Hurts, Oklahoma Team Needs: QB, WR, EDGE, TE
TRADE DETAILS: PATRIOTS GET PICK 63, CHIEFS GET PICKS 87 AND 92
I have no earthly idea about the Patriots and what they are going to do. And I know this is a big gap in picks for the Chiefs, but not having many picks the rest of this draft and getting 2 3rds is very helpful. I do not believe the Patriots will go for a backup QB this draft unless one presents itself. Stidham will go into the season as the starter. But I am generally fearful that Hurts goes here. My fear is making this pick.
   64.   Seattle Seahawks (from Kansas City Chiefs) – DB Kyle Dugger, Lenoir-Rhyne Team Needs: WR, EDGE, DT, CB, S, OT, iOL
Kyle has Seahawks player written all over him. “Super try-hard”, “dynamic athlete”, “blue collar attitude” is how some describe him. The Seahawks defense hasn’t been good since they lost the Legion of Boom. Getting someone who can play multiple positions whether it be nickel, strong safety, or free safety, will be incredibly important for a team that used to feature Earl Thomas. Earl was known for being everywhere on the field and always around the ball. Kyle played at the D2 level, but was the clear-cut best player in the country at that level.
